Our Christmas vacation consisted of going to driving, California fun, and driving some more. We took some pictures to document our first road trip. The start to our trip didn't go as planned due to the weather. We set out at 4 a.m. on Sunday and got to Blackfoot when the weather was so bad we could barely see two feet in front of us. So Justin decided we needed to go back and wait it out in our bed...at home. So we did. We set out again at 9 a.m. Because of our "late" start we didn't get far enough to make it over the Sierras before they closed for the night. So we made camp at the Sands Regency in Reno. It was actually really fun and we got an amazing deal for the night.
So we took our time getting up the next morning and ate at Mel's diner for breakfast and then set out again. We made it into Fairfield at like...3 something. And that's when the fun began. We did all sorts of things the next two weeks we were there. We visited the Jelly Belly Factory, Ikea and Chipotle in Sacramento, went to Candy Cane lane in Vacaville, helped mom clean out some of the house, went and looked at model homes ( I think this was my favorite!), I made a cute pillow with mom's help, and had a nice quiet Christmas & much more.
Then we packed up the car with our things, and ALL but one bag of hangers of Alyssa's stuff and headed back to the icy cold city we call Rexburg. Alyssa stayed with us for a few days until check-in's started, and we began what will probably be the busiest semester of our lives! I am interning for the Public Health Department of Idaho teaching the Fit and Fall Proof TM classes and managing apartments again. Justin did check-in's and started school and then found out he could intern this semester too with INL. So we are trying to get everything done and set up for that to happen as well. Its going to be crazy, but it might mean we can be done and out of Rexburg by Christmas 2011! {fingers crossed!}

I am SO excited for y'all!!! Sounds like you had a great Christmas and then got back to business right away. Love reading your blog!
